Samuel Dodwell

Painter, draughtsman, teacher and broadcaster, born in London. Samuel Dodwell attended the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art and began painting seriously after World War II.

He was by profession a banker with an American bank, retiring at 59 to concentrate on art and teaching.

Impressionism, sound draughtsmanship and a tendency towards abstraction all played a part in his diverse output.

He lived in Reigate, Surrey, and later in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.
